A first test hang in the pop-up concrete gallery at Gramophone Works. Raw concrete, heat-treated timber, the occasional piece of protruding steel and a steel-plate tiled floor. The DIY brackets work, the lighting works — only another fifteen prints to hang.

The original full-colour image was printed onto newsprint, taken outside and pasted over layers of random posters in an alley. That temporary collage was then photographed again, taking with it the tears, overlaps, dirt, typography and accidental marks of the street.
The resulting photograph was printed directly onto canvas and stretched over a wooden frame — turning something deliberately temporary back into a physical object.
It now seems particularly at home against the unfinished walls of the Concrete Room.
